Incorporation of phase change materials in fire protective clothing considering the presence of water

چکیده

When firefighters face a heat exposure, free water may be present in the fire protective clothing (FPC). Recently, incorporation of Phase Change Materials (PCMs) into FPC has shown great promise to increase thermal performance when dry state. However, presence firefighting garments is expected and how this alters behavior PCM assembly still remains discussed literature. Hence, study concerns effect outer shell and/or inner consisting 3 layers. A new mathematical model proposed where assumed incorporated inner. numerical analysis performed textile latent heat, distribution, flux intensity are varied. Skin temperature, skin flux, liquid fraction profiles obtained along with second-degree burn times measure performance. It found that steam condensation at reduces time, compared case. This tends shine light on importance considering moisture management assemblies so as promote maximum efficiency.
